Volunteer Training
Thank you for your interest in being an instructor or facilitator for one of our classes or support groups. NAMI Support Groups and classes are peer-led by trained teams who have lived experience with mental health. Please review the guidelines for each group below.
We ask that all facilitators have access to a computer and have basic computer skills. We also ask that all facilitators attend a 2 ½ day free training (may be offered online or in-person depending on Covid-19 restrictions) in addition to the below.
For groups
- Commit to co-facilitating a support group for at least three years
Attend a group at least three times within the year before attending training
For instructors
- Attend the class before attending training (as long as one is offered online or within a 50 mile radius)
- Teach a class at least once a year for three years
